• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard, use the arrows to move the numbers
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the arrows on the bottom center of the screen to move the numbers.
  • Controls and indicators
    • Top center:
      • Score
    • Bottom row (left to right):
      • X button: Quits the game and returns you to the welcome screen
      • Arrows
      • Reset button: Clears your score and returns the grid to the way it was at the beginning.
• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • You begin with a 4×4 grid with one or two tiles.
    • Move the squares around and merge them.
      • The squares move in unison. All squares move in a single direction unless they’re at the edge and cannot move.
      • The squares move from edge to edge. They stop only when another square is in their way.
      • If you move a square toward another tile with the same value, they will merge into a bigger one.
    • Every time you make a move, a new square appears.
    • Keep merging the squares until you earn the 2048 square.
      • If you run out of space to place in new squares, it’s game over.
  • Scoring
    • You earn points based on the value of the numbers you merge together.
    • Each time you merge a pair of 2, you earn 4 points. Merging a pair of 4s earns you 8 points, and so on.
    • The game does not save your high score.
