• Starting the Game
  • Press the gray and orange button in the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The upper right corner of the welcome screen has buttons for music control and sound control.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Press the left arrow key or the A key to move left.
    • Press the right arrow key or the D key to move right.
    • Press the up arrow key, the W key, or the spacebar to grab the ceiling and pull yourself toward it.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on-screen controls.
      • The move left and move right buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.
      • The grab up button is in the lower right corner of the screen.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper right corner of the screen has buttons to restart the current level or go back to the level select screen.
    • When a level first loads it briefly indicates the level number in the top center of the screen.
    • The level select screen shows unlocked levels in white and locked levels in gray.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a platforming game where the concept of a jump is replaced with the ability to grab onto the ceiling above you.
    • The goal for each level is to make it out of the gap in the roof to enter the next stage.
  • Features
    • Spikes – you die if you run into them.
      • You can use your hand to reach through spikes to grab the ceiling above, though must disengage by moving aside before your character runs its head into the spikes.
    • Red blocks – you can not grab onto them to lift your character up.
      • While you can not grab them, you can walk across them.
      • If your grab fails it shows immediately. You can sometimes grab the ceiling next to them even if your grab is slightly overlapping.
    • Keys – each key unlocks the gate of the same color.
      • You can reach up to grab a key even if the ceiling above it is red.
      • On some stages (like stage 7) you must collect the keys in the correct order to have a valid path allowing you to collect all the keys.
    • Peach blocks – the peach colored blocks can be used once each.
      • They fall after the first use.
    • Green blocks – each time you touch one of them it moves in the direction of the arrow shown on the platform.
      • Many of these require large movements generated by many consecutive repeated hits, or repeated smaller movements which have you reposition them after each time the green block is in proper position.
    • Exclamation point blocks – these allow you to switch the green blocks between their normal status and turning them gray.
      • While the blocks are gray they remain stationary and you can hang from them and pull yourself up, just like with other ceilings.
      • Exclamation point blocks can be repeatedly hit in order to keep cycling the status back and forth.
      • Late in some of the game some of the exclamation point blocks are on a rail & move back and forth as you change their status.
  • Levels
    • This game has 20 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a stage by safely making it through the hole in the roof.
      • You lose a level by running into spikes. This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of any failed level.
      • Some errant moves can make beating some levels impossible. When this happens select the level restart button and try again.
  • Tips
    • Since the levels are not timed you can take your time and plan out your strategy before making your first moves.
    • Try to get horizontally close to spikes before jumping up to cross over them.
    • If you make a mistake that makes a level impossible to beat hit the restart button in the upper right and try again.
