• Starting the Game
  • At the center of the welcome screen, select the play button to begin.
  • On the top row of the welcome screen are the following indicators:

• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • You begin with a 7 x 5 grid with number tiles on each cell.
    • Three or more identical number tiles are connected together; select any one of them to merge them.
      • If a set of numbers are connected, you can merge them.
      • Plan out your merges with care to make sure you can merge the numbers next to them.
    • New tiles appear from above the screen.
    • The tiles merge into a number tile that’s twice the value of the number on the previous tile (e.g. a group of 2s merge into a 4 regardless of number).
    • Keep merging number tiles until you form the 2048 tile.
      • If you run out of pairs of tiles to form, it’s game over.
    • On the game over screen are the following controls:
      • Select the home button on the center left to quit and return to the welcome screen.
      • Select the reset button on the center right to play again.
  • Power ups
    • There are three available power ups for you to use.
      • Rocket: Takes out one tile of your choice for 50 coins.
      • Magnet: Attracts and merges all the number tiles of a specific number to a spot of your choice for 100 coins.
      • Arrange: Sorts out the number tiles according to their values; this makes them easy to merge for a little while. Arrange is the highest-power upgrade, costing 150 coins per use.
    • Power ups cost coins.
      • You begin with 200 coins.
      • You earn more coins by merging groups of numbers with coins in them.
    • You have to use the power ups while there is at least one valid move available. If you run out of moves (other than using a power up) the game will end, even if the use of a power up would have allowed additional moves.
  • Scoring
    • Each number tile is worth 10 points when merged. The minimum number of points you’ll receive is 30.
    • The game shows you your best score on the game over screen.
  • Tips
    • It helps to play the game from the top down, making horizontal merges high up on the playing field before making merges lower down.
      • If you make merges near the bottom of the playing field they can misalign higher up merges with a horizontal component to them.
    • Any time you have a single valid move left do not make it unless you are certain it will open up another valid move.
      • Instead you should use a power up so that you have multiple moves available, as your game ends if you use up the last valid move & no other valid moves are created.
    • The tile you select is where the chain will merge into. Choose with care to help ensure you align other potential matches & do not create arbitrary unneeded match blocks.
