• Starting the Game
  • Press the blue and white play button in the middle of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels, coin savings, and purchased upgrades.
  • The bottom center of the welcome screen shows how many levels you have unlocked.
  • The lower right corner of the welcome screen has a gear button for resetting your game progress.

    • Use your mouse left click to fire upward from where you are positioned & scroll your mouse around the screen to move your plane.
    • Release the mouse left click button, drag the cursor across the screen, then hit the left click button to make a rapid move from one location to another.

    • Move your finger around the screen to change your plane’s location.

    • The level select screen shows how many levels you have unlocked.

• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a vertical flying shooting game where you move your plane around the screen to avoid enemy fire and take down enemies.
    • Levels are not distance based, but rather are based on defeating a number of enemies.
    • You can shoot heart ships and collect the hearts to restore health.
    • You can shoot coin ships and collect coins to purchase ship upgrades.
  • Levels
    • This game has 45 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • Each level is beat when you destroy a certain number of enemies on it.
      • You lose a level if you run out of health.
      • This game offers unlimited continues which start you at the beginning of any level you failed.
    • Level design
      • A mix of the following enemy types appears on each stage (other than the boss battles).
      • Some stages key off of a primary enemy type, while other stages have multiple difficulty enemy types in parallel.
      • Each stage has a different mix of enemies, a different pace at which enemies appear, and a different count of enemies you must destroy to beat each stage.
        • In general later levels throw many enemies at you at once rather than requiring you to defeat many more enemies to beat the level.
  • Enemies
    • Small white planes – flies vertically quickly, but does not fire upon you. This plane first appears in level 1.
    • Red heart ship – has 2 hearts in it which can be collected after destroying the ship. This ship first appears in level 1 & appears in almost every level except for the boss battle levels.
    • Yellow coin ship – contains 5 coins in it which can be collected after destroying the ship. This ship first appears in level 1 & appears in almost every level except for the boss battle levels.
    • Small blue planes – flies vertically or downward at a slight angle. This plane shoots 3 bullets in a row from each wing in the direction it is facing. This plane first appears in level 2.
    • Blue plane with a star – shoots a steady stream of bullets from each wing until it moves to reposition, then does the same thing again. This plane first appears in level 3.
    • Laser cannon ship – periodically shoots a laser beam down the screen while moving from one edge of the screen toward the center of the screen. This shows a flashing yellow indicator above and below it before firing. After the firing sequence is done the ship can then return to either left or right edge of the screen and charge up another shot. This ship first appears in level 4.
    • Blue plane with 3 stars – shoots 2 heat seeking missiles at you. This enemy can fire upon you even if it has already past you and is below your plane. The missiles follow you until they hit you or are shot down. This plane first appears in level 5.
    • Mines – These can not be shot, but damage your plane if you run into them. These appear in the second boss on level 22, then reappear in the game from level 33 onward.
    • A mix of the above enemies appears on each stage (other than the boss battle) with some stages keying off of a primary enemy type, while other stages have multiple difficulty enemy types in parallel.
  • Bosses
    • There are 3 boss battles in this game on levels 9, 22, and 45.
      • First boss – shoot the falling bombs launched by the boss back at him. When the bombs run into the boss or the boss runs into the bombs it loses health.
      • Second boss – this is likely the hardest boss of the 3. If you run into the boss you instantly lose. The boss also periodically fires its center core at you, which takes a heart when it hits you. Some indestructible mines also float down the screen from top to bottom.
      • Third boss – avoid the lasers it shoots and fire on the heat seeking missiles which are periodically fired. An indicator shows which of the 4 cannons are about to shoot lasers. Up to two cannons can fire at once. When the boss has limited energy left it moves erratically up and down, making it important to play low on the screen.
  • Upgrades
    • In this game you can upgrade your plane, your bullets, and your health.
      • Each feature can be upgraded twice.
      • The first upgrade costs 100 coins and the second upgrade costs 200 coins.
    • Plane – initially you shoot a single bullet at a time from the center of your plane.
      • After the first update you shoot from each wing.
      • The second upgrade has you shoot from both wings and a center shot.
    • Bullets – your first shot are small bullets.
      • The first upgrade gives you larger shots which also have your shots ricochet off of enemy crafts to hit other planes.
      • The second upgrade has your shots move upward in a wave form, which gives them a broader cross section. Some of these shots also leave stationary bullets on the screen that enemies can run into which damage opposing ships.
    • Health – increase your starting heart containers from 3 to 4 or 5.
      • This also increases the maximum health you can hold if you lose any power.
  • Tips
    • Enemy order
      • On some levels enemies immediately reappear after being defeated, whereas on other levels you have a bit of time between each enemy.
      • The primary enemies to prioritize are those which do not fly off screen, or those which can attack you from behind.
        • Defeat the 3-star planes as they appear so that they are not shooting missiles from behind you.
        • Defeat the 1-star planes as quickly as you can without taking damage from them. When fighting planes with rapid fire try to hit them in between their shot sequence and try to be offcenter from them so you do not have to move far to evade their fire.
      • In most cases you can avoid taking on the laser shooting airship which moves from the edge of the screen to the center until the other planes have been defeated.
      • If the screen has many enemies on it avoid taking on the small blue planes which fly at an angle unless you have full health, a good angle on them, and have upgraded your health.
      • If you are not in a boss battle and a particular ship is frustrating you then you can defeat it by running into it, though this will sacrifice some of your health.
    • Upgrades
      • Upgrade your plane first as that will allow you to shoot multiple bullets at a time, effectively doubling or tripling your shot firepower.
      • After upgrading your plane at least once you can consider upgrading the bullets then health once, then do the second upgrade set in the same order.
      • If you get stuck on a boss or another difficult level consider playing earlier levels to collect coins to purchase upgrades.
    • Hearts and coins
      • Your heart containers are limited to 3 (or 4 or 5 if you have upgraded).
        • If there are more heart containers laying out than you have health you can just leave them for later.
        • If you are short a heart container but the container on the screen is in a risky spot it may not make sense to grab it until you clear out many of the enemies.
      • Coins
        • Coins spread out over a wide area and disappear a few seconds after apearing.
        • If you are playing to advance through the game then it can make sense to be somewhat conservative and only pick up some of the coins.
        • If you are playing to earn money to purchase upgrades then it can make sense to be more aggressive with picking up coins, going so far as ramming the coin ships to destroy them and make the coins accessible.
    • Positioning
      • In most cases it makes sense to play low on the screen so you have more time to react to incoming enemies.
      • When the screen is clear of enemies it makes sense to be close to the horizontal center and move back and forth slightly while constantly firing so there is a good chance you will hit any enemy that appears on screen before they are able to shoot at you.
