• Starting the Game
  • Press the green GO button on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The welcome screen shows unlocked levels at the bottom center and has a reset progress button in the lower right.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Move up by pressing the up arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing the right arrow key.
    • Move down by pressing the down arrow key.
    • Move left by pressing the left arrow key.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on-screen controls.
    • The bottom center of the screen has a layover direction pad.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left shows how many of the 50 neon dots you have collected on the current stage.
    • The top center shows how many heart containers or hit points you have remaining.
    • The upper right has a pause button. When the game is paused an overlay menu screen includes the following options: resume play, go to the level select screen, restart the current level.
    • The level select screen shows how many levels you have unlocked.

  • Basics
    • The goal of this game is to collect 50 neon dots on each stage without running out of health or going off screen.
      • Going off screen is instant death.
      • Each time you hit a red dot or run into your tail you lose one of your six hit points.
    • Initially your snake is slow and short.
      • As you collect dots your tail grows longer and you move much faster.
  • Dot types
    • Pink dots – these are typically stationary.
      • In some rare cases some pink dots move.
      • Whenever you collect a pink dot it spawns at least one more pink dot.
      • On some stages by the time you finish reaching the level goal of 50 there may be a dozen or more pink dots on the playing field.
    • Green dots – these fall from the top of the screen downward.
      • While they look like competing snakes you can actually collect them like other neon dots.
    • Yellow dots – these move around the yellow plus signs and remain temporarily stationary between each move.
      • These respawn, though only a limited number of times.
    • Blue dots – they only appear once per stage and do not respawn.
      • You have to run into the blue dot without touching any of the lines running off them.
    • Red dots – you have to avoid hitting red dots.
      • Red dots typically disappear after you hit them.
      • Each time you hit a red dot you lose a heart container.
  • Big pink button
    • Some levels require you to repeatedly run into a big pink button to knock pink dots off of it.
    • When you knock pink dots off of a big pink button it also knocks red dots onto the playing field.
    • On levels with a big pink button the pink dots do not regenerate automatically as you collect them, instead you must repeatedly run into the big pink button to generate many pink dots.
  • Levels
    • This game has 32 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a stage by collecting 50 total dots of any color other than red.
      • You lose a level if either you go off grid out of bounds (the screen does not wrap), or if you lose all your health.
        • You lose a hit point each time you run into a red dot or run into your tail.
        • If you lose a stage you can replay it an unlimited number of times, starting at the beginning of the failed level.
  • Tips
    • When playing on stages with blue dots try to collect the blue dots early to open up the playing area.
    • Collect any green dots which are easy to collect.
      • If you are slow and are struggling to collect the green dots consider playing lower on the field and then aligning yourself with the column the dot is in before it approaches.
      • If you are too slow early in the level you may be more than fast enough as you collect some dots, grow your tail, and speed up.
    • If there are many pink dots on the field and you are playing a level where they respawn as you collect them it makes sense to collect the easy to grab pink dots and ignore the ones that are hard to reach.
      • There is no need to collect the hard to reach dots since others will regenerate just the same & pose less of a health risk.
    • When playing levels with a mix of red and yellow dots try to collect the yellow dots when they are at an easy location & do not chase them into the spots that are hard to reach, as the harder locations mean you’ll have a higher probability of running into a red dot.
      • The yellow dots in hard locations will eventually move to easier locations.
      • Try to collect yellow dots which are nearby first as longer distances may mean the dot moves again before you get to the destination.
    • Speed
      • As you play a level and get up around 30 or 40 dots collected you will see you move much faster & it can take 2 squares to turn whenever you initiate a turn command.
      • Try to align your dot collecting from far away and plan your moves so you don’t have to rapidly change directions.
    • Pink buttons
      • When you are playing a level with a big pink button you can hit it in a corner, move one square over, move out, move a square over, go back in, move a square over, go back out, go back in so that you generate 3 pink dots per .
      • You can knock many pink dots free before collecting them so that you make great progress before moving too fast.
      • As you play a stage with a pink button for a while & move fast it can make sense to try to knock only a single pink dot free on each .
    • Health
      • It generally makes sense to play decently conservative off the start as the levels grow harder as you move faster.
        • As you get further into a stage it makes sense to get even more conservative as your increased speed makes it easy to make mistakes.
      • Intentionally hitting red dots
        • If you have many hit points remaining and only need to collect a few final dots it can make sense to run into red dots which block you from reaching a group of dots you want to collect.
        • On some of the later levels with many red blocks in the middle it can make sense to intentionally hit a red block on one side or the other to make it easier to cross from top to bottom without hitting another red dot each time.
          • On these same levels it can make sense to collect the pink dots near the top or the bottom until they are exhausted, and then move to the other side of the playing field. This minimizes the number of times you cross the area heavy with red dots.
